TORAH THINGS © February, 5 2009

Our birth has been about Torah things.
It is that which is within us.
Our thoughts are where our voices sing.
And prayer is well within us.

The days come, and the nights flow.
And the voice of G-d is with us.

The stranger will not soothe our soul.
It is we, who will pursuethe very will of G-d on high, Who knows of me and you.

Days come, nights flow. And the voice of G-d is with us.

Fear not opinion; follow Torah law.Seek what is inspiring, without question, without flaw.Hear the purpose, hear the call.
Get to know what Moses saw.

The days come, the nights flow.
And that voice of G-d is with us.

It was that sign of partingthat divided us at sea;and altered the vision of ourselves;and changed eternity.

And that vision, is our soul.
The vision is our birth. That essence of Torah thingsdefines us here on earth.

Ages come, and ages go.
And the voice of G-d is with us.

THE TZADDIK © November 27, 2008

The tzaddik moves
on quiet feet.

His words deliberate
and discreet.

His holiness abounds
in prayer, in thought
and Torah sound.

Sitting, looking, moving
in quiet contemplation.

He is within us.

And waiting patiently for it all -
is Hashem.

SAY TEHILLIM

© November 28, 2008

Say Tehillim.

Say a prayer.

We Jews are together everywhere.

Our voice is one.

Our purpose true.

What hurts our People,
hurts me and you.

Together, say Tehillim.

Think Tehillim.

Think as one.

A danger lurks,
in the night and sun.

Together Jews are everywhere.

Stay together, say a prayer.

Say Tehillim.

Spread your feelings,
above the crowds.

The Jewish voice is clear and loud.

Torah’s words here abound,
through the air, a song, the sound.

Say Tehillim.

WHO IS HOLY?

© December 10, 2008

Who is holy?

Who is brave?

Against the wind
everyday?

With selected words
overheard.

Away from crowds
like a cloud
on his way
everyday,

wandering in the fray.

Who, in a silence,
speaks to He,
about great thought
and destiny,

across years of purpose
and history?

Who, by example
makes it known,
by his tone,
as he roams
through the ages
amongst the sages,
studying, turning pages?

Who has the karma,
and the will to pause,
within his existence
and his cause,
to pursue great things?

Proper thought,
proper action.

Holy response,
and reaction.

Who is holy?

Who is blessed?

Savoring G-d’s requests?

It is he, who in quiet contemplation
is living Torah.

WHERE THE LIGHT IS

© January 8, 2009
By Michael Druck

Hashem, above all things delights
when He finds our people in His light
as they warm themselves in Torah thought
that they have known, and have been taught.

Words that delight the soul
makes us holy and consoled
in meanings that endure
forever then, and evermore.

G-d Who made the earth
made us His heirs
in His will and sacred air.

G-d enriches our very being
and His light forever beams
deep within us.

The heavens and the glory of G-d declare:

His people survive where they belong and everywhere
because we are His ultimate creation.

RETURN, RETURN: PRAYERS AT THE SOLDIERS’ GRAVE MT.HERZL

Return, return! At night our light is burning.

Return, return! We watch and dream of a returning.

Who will bear witness?

The absent can return.

Return.

We the honored dead, with lengthening sadness,
spent the golden oil of gladness,
to feed the signal of return.

Return.

The day comes and east wind sings.

We move ever so slightly, and yearn.

When hope whispers its wings,
and the fire within us burns,
of a watchful return.

Return.

Like it or not, we pine
for the land of yours and of mine.

Our light forever will shine.

The Torah says what is thine.

Return, return.

We see the beacon of light
shining in day and in night.

And in it we pray and discern
for a path, of a holy return.

Return.

We pray at the flame in the air.

That sign of our hope and despair.

Hopefully reaching the eyes of the living;
understanding of a plight and misgiving.

What did we die for?

Return hapless people.

What of the legacy?

Warm yourself in the fire that burns;
that lingers and flickers for return.

Only G-d loves us.

Return.

And through the cedars and the cypress and the pine,
the wind moves and reminds,
that at Mt. Herzl, G-d and the dead, defines us.

Return.

THE GIFT© February 16, 2008 Michael Druck

G-d gave the Jews
the greatest of things.
And the Jew gives it all that he can.
G-d gives the Jews
the greatest of things.
And it is we, who understand.

The power and importance of Torah.

G-d gives the Jew
the power to bring,
His presence down to the earth.
G-d gives it all,
and what we need to recall,
is that, which was given at birth.

That power and importance of Torah.

G-d gives you
and G-d gives me too,
the power to grasp
and to reach
the meaning of His words,
written and heard,
to learn, discern,
and to teach.

In the power and importance of Torah.

Never mind what others may say,
or what they think,
or believe.
We are the Chosen,
and are ever beholden,
to the Holiness
we need to achieve.

In that power and importance of Torah.

Be that our sign,
in our hearts and our minds,
of what we show to the nations,
a Land and a People,
ever so strong,
with soul and determination.
Immersed in that power,
every minute and hour,

In the importance of G-d and of Torah.

G-d gave the Jews
the greatest of things,
and we live it all by example.

And the flag we should wave,
should be embossed with the gift G-d gave,
in the manner, and banner of Torah.
